Lake Clear Up by Volunteers
The Lakeside Volunteers have been hard at work once again , making sure the lake and its surroundings are spruced up, clean and tidy and ready for the winter and next year! The Lake Clear up took place over the weekend of the 1st and 2nd of September, and much vegetation was cleared around the lake by the volunteers ,led by Mrs Marion Williams. The ground around the lakeside was repaired and any rubbish cleared and disposed of. As a result the lake continues to look its best as a valuable natural asset for the village. Thanks go to all volunteers , those who carried out the clearing work and those who prepared refreshments,to MYPAG for supplying the shredder, and in particular to Miss Marion Willams who does a marvellous job of organising the clear up and overseeing the lake for any issues arising throughout the year.

Thanks go to the Council's Cemetery Assistant , Mrs Michelle Jones, for organising and overseeing the work that was needed.

Dog Fouling
Unfortunately we have to report that some dog owners are allowing their dogs to foul on Allington Park, including the children's play area, and are not picking up after them as the law requires them to do. There are signs around the field advising dog owners of their responsibilities. This presents not only a nuisance but a real threat to health of children, and to those engaged in cutting the grassed areas. Please will dog owners be reminded that they must pick up their dog's mess when walking in this area and dispose of it in the bins provided. Your co-operation is appreciated. If anyone wishes to report any occurrences of repeated offending, please contact the Clerk.

Additional and Replacement bins
In response to requests from a number of residents and groups requesting extra rubbish bins in various locations and the replacement of a couple of broken bins, Gresford Community Council has taken advice from Derek, our marvellous Street Cleaner and IMAGE, and has purchased three bins, and contracted with Wrexham Council ( WCBC) for 10 additional new bins. WCBC will fit all bins and will be responsible for emptying all bins. They should all be in place very soon.

CCTV
Gresford Community Council wishes to advise residents that CCTV cameras have now
been installed around the Scout Hut off High Street Gresford, with the co-operation of
the Scouts. The Cameras cover the Scout hut building and look across Allington Park,
and will be regularly monitored for incidents arising. It is hoped that the location of
these cameras will reduce the incidences of anti -social behaviour that have taken
place near the park in recent months, including dog fouling ,and will protect the park
and its visitors. Please note that, under the Council's CCTV Policy and Code of Practice,
any data captured by the CCTV cameras can only be released to the Police or other
Enforcement bodies, where a crime number has been obtained, and not to assist individuals.
